I have 10+ years experience in designing and implementing survey research projects. I started out at Westat in Rockville, MD, where I worked in both the Telephone Research Center (TRC) and the Instrument Design, Evaluation, and Analysis Services (IDEAS) department. In 2016, I moved to Germany to begin my doctorate in empirical sociology at the Professorship for Social Data Science and Methodology at the University of Mannheim. After completing my doctorate in 2020, I joined the German Center for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM) working on improving representation of ethnic minorities in the DeZIM.panel and the NaDiRa.panel.
I have consulted on projects for the German Ministry for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), the German Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP), and the European Council. My advice has ranged from specifics of technical implementation of survey and sampling methods to the importance of improved data equity and disaggregation for human rights.
Since 2023, I provide freelance survey methods and evaluation expertise. I specialize in special populations such as policymakers and refugees, as well as sensitive topics and contexts. My clients include UNICEF and the Transatlantic Privacy Perceptions Panel at the Universities of Maryland (UMD) and Munich (LMU).
